A TRIBUTE TO HELEN by Claude Peter Dhuet

Claude Peter Dhuet

How peaceful and serene she looked -
As she lay there in repose -
All decked up in her finery -
For her final trip to glory.

But it was not her essence that lay there -
It’s was only the shell that once held her -
That would soon be returned -
To the elements from whence it came.

For it has been clearly written -
From earth did thou come -
And from earth will thou return.

The real her has gone ahead -
And forever will abide -
To live in peace and glory-
In that kingdom in the sky.

Where neither pain nor suffering -
Shall ever mar her spirit -
But all the promises of a better life -
Forever shall be with it..

She is now with her Lord -
No better place could she be -
To live among the angels-
For all eternity.

To all those whom she left behind-
Miss her but let her go-
Until that time- no one knows when -
Once more you’ll meet again.

For time on earth is but a fleeting moment-
Measured against eternity-
With patience, time will ease your grief-
If you keep secure in your belief.
