Proximity by Denver Fredericks

proximity used to be an ally of mine
then the inevitable drought that follows
weather the storms is what builds strenght
the desert flower blooms out of sorrow
the strenght to hold on just that bit longer
to be greeted by fortune held by tomorrow

heat of the day and the coolness of night
is the journey that each of us separates
blistering heat of joy needs to be absorbed
for the winters of our lives to compensate
the onslaught of harshness credence of life
each of ourselves to the cause truly dedicate

so flash me your richess and moisture
keep me with all my wants, needs and flaws
for from this arid region a hidden oasis hides
that will flourish if into it love get poured
and in this you can shelter from others and all
and eventually not ever need for anymore
