"MY CHANGING YEARS" by Tom Zart
People don't speak as loud anymore,
And I can't hear their knock at my door.
To see things, I find, that I must strain,
And in most my joints, I now feel pain.
I battle my bulges every day,
And worry more what the scales may say.
I know my body can't stay the same
I've too many years of work to blame.
My children's pictures on the wall,
Help to remind me I've had a bail.
I thank the Lord for my patient wife,
Who's put up with me most of her life.
Of all the pleasures that life may bring,
It's still God's blessings that make me sing.
I shall not fret, may heaven forbid,
Cause I can't look as good as I did.
