The Voices are calling me, calling me home
Weary from wandering, no more must I roam
To distant far places, and o'er the sea
My searching not answered, nor e'er will be
The moon in it's splender, the stars bright at night
and longing a sweetheart to e'er hold tight
For me ne'er be blessed by the touch of her hand
To always regret, and not understand
My life mostly over, and soon bell will toll,
eternally wander, forever my soul
For what was I given a life full of pain, no sunshine,
no moonglow, but always dark rain
This be my calling, arranged up on high, from womb
to full manhood, from manhood to die
To dust and to ashes, my place 'six by three'
Forgotten forever, to ne'er be free
My eyes now grow dimmer, the bell soon to toll
No longer a body, but always a soul
