FEELINGS, by Claude Peter Dhuet

Claude Peter Dhuet

There are feelings we keep special-
All safe and tucked away-
In the best part of our heart-
Forever there to stay.

Feelings shared with no one else-
Lest somehow they are diminished-
Feelings that are so very dear-
We want to keep them in us.

The first time we met our special love-
Is one we never forget-
And when we held her in our arms-
Is even dearer yet.

How could you explain the feeling-
The moment she said " I do"-
For from that time in space you knew-
That she and you were two.

And when the first born came along-
There is no explaining why-
The feeling that you got that day-
Just made you want to cry.

The day a loved one went away-
The feeling you stored in your heart-
Until the day you meet again
Is one that will not depart.

So before you ask me why that I cannot-
Share all my feelings with you-
Search well your feelings and without a doubt-
You’ll know the reason too.
