EVERYONE IS OLD BUT ME - by Claude Peter Dhuet

I never assumed that I’d be old-
That’s for the other guy-
If he wants to be old and feeble-
I find no reason why-

I need to be bent, and energy spent-
Let him shiver and shake all day-
If he wants to grow old, put life on hold-
I’ve found a better way.

Its all in the mind, I really feel fine-
I just ignore all the pains and the aches-
If I don’t walk as fast, I’m able at last-
To see all the beauty around me.

For when I was young, I never took time-
To see what God had created for me-
The birds in the trees, the clouds floating by-
The mountains that reach to the sky.

Its never too late, don’t make the mistake-
To think that you have to grow old-
Feel young again, join me my friend-
And knock all these OLD rumors out cold.
