SOLITUDE - by Claude Peter Dhuet

I wandered into a forest one day-
For whatever reason, I cannot say-
The solitude I quickly felt-
Is a feeling I’ve not, forgotten yet.

I found a nice place, to sit down-
With lots of greenery, all around-
No sound could be heard, but the song of a bird-
A sweeter song, I had never heard.

Some notes were high, some notes were low-
Some came fast, and some came slow-
But the beautiful song, that was created-
Was one that I soon, appreciated.

As I sat there, in this peaceful place-
My thoughts started thinking , of another place-
The place that I came from, that very day-
A place located, not far away.

With all its noise, with all its din-
With all the confusion, people were in-
With all its crime, with all its sin-
This is the place, that I was in.

I vowed right then, to come again-
Whenever stressed out, I have been-
To find this wondrous, peaceful place-
And that same sweet bird that sings.

Note: I think that everyone who lives in a big city has a desire to find a place such as this where we can escape from all the negative input that surrounds us: the headlines, the world events that affect us. Just to settle our nerves so that we can regain our composure.
