MY WIFE MARILYN
by Claude Peter Dhuet
Although my wife is elderly-
She’s not an old lady to me-
As any other woman would be-
If she happen to be her age.
The reason to me, is easy to see-
We’ve been so long together-
That the changes that happened to me and she-
Were all so very gradual.
I hardly noticed, as the years rolled by-
That she was no longer young-
The feeling I had, was locked inside-
From the day life together begun.
And when its time, for us to part-
For surely it’s bound to be-
The memories we leave for the other to keep-
Will be locked in our heart forever.
