Fool Amid the Sages by David Kessel

Postby davidkessel » Sun Mar 19, 2006 6:17 am

At times I think of what would be
A better choice of destiny:
To be a sage among the dopes
Where wisdom never interlopes,
Or be a fool among the sages
Where wit with mind and insight rages?
A wise one, who amongst the fools
His shrewd astuteness features,
For friendship and respect shall drool
Amongst such lowly creatures.
But being daft in gifted midsts
My wants and needs superbly fits,
For even though I might be dense,
Amid wise folks I shall advance,
I'll try to learn their keen acumen
And thus become a better human.
