My Daily Bread...
Dot McGinnis

For riches my King I do not ask,
Nor for wealth or abundance so that I may bask,

In worldly goods no Lord not I,
But for daily bread enough to get by.

For glory and honor I do not seek,
Your servant I am Lord, lowly and meek.

All that I ask is my daily bread,
For those that I love and myself to be fed.

"Consider the birds" You say to me,
Oh Lord I do, yes Lord I see.

They have their fill, their daily bread,
'Tis by Your hand that they are fed.

The beautiful lilies that grow in the field,
Neither toil nor spin they accept Your yield.

Such blessings You bestow my King,
On fowl and field am I less of a thing?

For my daily bread is all that I ask,
And for those I love, is that too great a task?

"Bread of Life" instill within me,
Faith to believe, trust to receive,

Hope for this day, and for what lies ahead,
The promise of daily bread.

Proverbs 30:8-9 (NIV)
"...give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.
Otherwise, I may have too much and
disown you and say, 'Who is the LORD?'
Or I may become poor and steal,
and so dishonor the name of my God."
